Small Jobs
If you have a requirement to get property data but do not wish to run the software, we can carry out the calculations for you here at NEL and post (by ordinary mail, fax or email) the results to you.
This service provides property data on a wide variety of chemical compounds at a reasonable cost. Requests are taken by fax, e-mail or letter and, where possible, the data results are typically serviced within 8 hours.
There are three general classes of information provided:
- Single phase property data available from the NEL in-house system
Charged at £5 per data point (i.e. property value at given T,P), with a minimum charge of £75. If the number of points required is large then the charging algorithm changes to one based on the time required to complete the job, currently at a rate of £452 per day.
- Phase equilibria data (Vapour/Liquid and Liquid/Liquid), available from the NEL in-house system
Single flash calculations are charged at £30 each, with a minimum charge of £75. Excel spreadsheet format charged at £150. If the number of flash calculations is large, then the charging algorithm changes to one based on the time required to complete the job, currently at a rate of £452 per day.
- Literature searches in the world scientific literature for available data
Literature searches are two tier. First the in-house secondary data sources at NEL are searched and, if no data are retrieved, an on-line computer search is conducted on the primary literature using Chemical Abstracts and any other available database sources.
Literature searches are charged at a flat rate of £200 each plus any on-line charges that have been incurred – for a typical search with 50 possible sources to examine, the on-line charge would be around £150.
